A short burst of dark and dim reappearance of Kate Beckinsale as the hot vampire Selene in the series of Underworld. It tells of her daughter and the capture of her husband Michael Corvin after they left us from the prequel back in 2006's Evolution. If you were pondering, 2009 was more of a retelling of how it all began rather than what actually follows from 2006, hence this current film serves as a bridge to what more is to come from the vampires and the lycans.
Though it pretty much stop short of extending the storyline, it did well in aligning the brief interruption of the past two prequels bringing the Underworld naives in understanding what the whole deal and ordeal is about. I find the action as tense as before, if not even better and that though fairly predictable from the actions of the cast, you could still immerse yourself in the dark atmosphere which was perfectly crafted from the backdrop. The supporting casts were brilliant and complements Kate well in all of her scenes.
Of course, at the late age of hitting 40s, Kate Beckinsale still looks as slim and toned as ever and as sexy as she is in her vampire armor suit. And at that age, she still hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, so expect a lot of deep-stirring action as you follow her about this action-thriller flick. You still get that piece of hot eye-candy as you did when she first came on screen 10 years ago for the first ever film of Underworld.
